Michel Mölder is an Amsterdam based photographer. At the age of seven he made his first shot of a dead earthworm and discovered the power of the image.

He has always been drawn to travelling and adventure. After years of roaming about and doing dirty jobs he woke up one day at the other side of the world, realising that his snapshots formed a valuable scrapbook of his experiences. Certain moments felt like hell back then, but were million dollar memories looking at the photos.

Michel decided to make image his profession and found a job making television. He started down the ladder as assistant and learned the craft of filming. Soon he became a cameraman himself, shooting many prime-time entertainment and travel programs, like '3 op Reis', 'Holland's Next Top Model' and 'Try Before You Die'.

However, his fascination for still photography never faded and he decided to combine both carreers. What he enjoys most is their shared ability to tell a story and to frame a moment, excluding it from its context and thus suggesting a more dramatic or glamorous reality.

Besides making raw, spontaneous situations a bit more beautiful than they really are, Michel likes to completely stage and direct a setting, creating an atmosphere from scratch. In any situation he looks for the unique
circumstances or details revealing its potential beauty.

He still has a soft spot for earthworms.
